The climate is tropical, hot, damp, maritime and of two seasons.

• Dry season: from May to October
• Hot season: from November to April, corresponding to the raining season.

Mayotte is not sheltered from tropical depressions or cyclones. Rain gauging is moderate; it is more significant on the plateau of the 'Grande Terre' than in Dzaoudzi.

• Annual temperature: 25°C
• Maximum from January to March: 28°C
• Minimum from July to September: 24°C

In the summer, it gets light from 5.00 am to 7.00pm , whereas during the winter it is from 6.00am to 6.00pm .
