The islands which shape the heart of the archipelagos (Mahe, Praslin, La Digue) are similar to 'micro-continents'; indeed neither coralline, nor volcanic, the underground is from granitic type.

One can see some awesome outcrop at the famous 'Anse Source d'Argent beach' in La Digue Island. Other islands, like Aldabra (the largest island of the archipelagos), are from the coralline type.
